Get ready for an adrenaline hit! Explode the myths of slides and skids and explore the limit of force versus grip in controlled conditions with the Total Driver Skid Pan Night. This program progresses from relating to the road conditions, under-steer, causes and influences to over-steer and early detection slide management. The different techniques between managing front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive slide situations.
With 3 Total Driver instructors on hand, the Total Driver Skid Pan course provides an ideal opportunity to pick up some tips from professional driving instructors, in a controlled one-on-one environment regardless of your present skill level. The course will promote and enhance the skills of individuals for both everyday driving and hazard emergency avoidance skills.
The program begins with an informative talk on driving position, vision, balance and hand positioning on the wheel. It then moves into the practical phase with participants undertaking instruction in a specifically constructed skid pan featuring left and right turns, hairpins, sweepers and left right configurations.
The evening alternates between on track-familiarisation and skills acquisitions, and driving competitions against the clock. Promotions are provided with the winner of the night given free participation in the next skid pan night they book. Further, there are multiple prizes on offer including discount vouchers for the Driver Development and Performance Driver Programs. The fastest time and best performed driver for the year will receive tickets for two to the Gold Coast Indy Carnival!
Light refreshments can be provided and pizza or BBQ dinner can be organized.

Why don't we do this as part of our Driver Development Program?
If there is one skill set that we cannot pass on in a limited time frame, it is how to handle loss of vehicle control. We can teach you how to take vehicle control to the maximum level of adhesion with force versus grip, but this takes time and a carefully structured and managed program to ensure the correct message is delivered. This is why we do not include this level of training in our standard Driver Development program.
