This program is part of our Community Awareness Project in educating in the three elements to be a Total Driver. These three elements are:
The vehicle.
The Driver.
Social Aptitude.
Our schools education program is complementary for all schools who enroll in our Driver Awareness Program. The Total Driver Development programs work as we concentrate on the Three C’s Comfort and Confidence builds Competence.
The Driver Awareness Program encompasses and the students will learn the following
· Principles of preventive driving
· The causes of vehicle LOC (Loss of Control), early identification
and how to prevent them.
· How to use vehicle controls to increase grip
threshold and safety.
· Vehicle maintenance and how to purchase a vehicle.
· Safe following distance and factors that influence
our following distance.
· Dynamics and physics of speed, why going faster
makes so much difference to your ability to maintain
control.
· Techniques in steering, braking and driving,
to enable controlled progressive reactions that increase
our safety barrier.
Driver development
· What is good driving and what makes a good
driver. Attitude adjustment process .
How our natural reactions are for our natural environment
not for the environment behind the wheel.
· Seating positions to create balance and to
be part of the vehicle
· Hand positioning and steering technique to
reduce fatigue, controlled reactions to work with the
vehicle, reduce tension and control adrenalin behind
the wheel.
· Vision, factors and influences that affect
us as drivers. Why we look and don’t see. Mind
maps for driving.
· Peer group pressure
· Invincibility, why it will never happen to
me.
· Introduction to active and passive safety.
· Principles of slow speed manoeuvring.
The program can be tailored to your specific schools and regions needs. We have a three period allocation per term to each school.
This program is also supported by our Learn to Drive School. Driving educators who have been specifically chosen on their performance, diligence and passion for teaching young drivers how to drive have been taught our techniques in driving to use in conjunction with Queensland transport guidelines. We have shown that by using this method we can dramatically reduce learning times yet increasing learnt outcomes over conventional training.
This method also enables us to have a platform of knowledge and skill to project from with our New Driver Development program. Again we are complementing the learning process and building on knowledge and skills learnt.
With all of our programs we encourage parents to participate so they may assist in the learning process in our absence.
